I am so excited to read this book with all of you. Julie Murphy is author at the forefront of writing fat representation. Most of her books are YA, like Dumplin’, which had a Netflix show, or Faith which is a YA series about a teenage girl named Faith, who is also a fat superhero who can fly. I enjoy all her books.
I chose If the Shoe Fits for book club for a couple of reasons. I absolutely adored this book when I read it. It is a new adult novel that takes place during the run of a Bachelor style TV show. It is also kind of a Cinderella story. I have seen these types of stories told before, but the fat representation in them was always terrible. Not so in the hands of Julie Murphy.
